City of Hamilton named one of Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Regional Employers for 2023

HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton has been recognized as a Top Regional Employer in the Hamilton-Niagara Region for the eighth time. The City’s selection for the 2023 list was based on a submission by City staff to Mediacorp Canada Inc. which oversees the competition.

Now in its 16th year, Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Regional Employers is a special designation that recognizes employers in the greater Hamilton and Niagara region that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which ones offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. The annual competition is open to any employer with its head office in the Hamilton-Niagara area. Employers of any size may apply, whether private or public sector.

The City was selected for a number of reasons, including retirement planning, a defined benefit pension plan for employees, pregnancy and parental leave top-up, flexible work arrangements for employees, and the availability of wellness activities encouraging employees to make health and wellness a priority.

The City has applied to the competition eight times and has been successful each time.
