City of Hamilton shows its support in welcoming the 2021 Grey Cup event
HAMILTON – The City of Hamilton congratulates the Hamilton Tiger Cats on their successful bid and has committed a total value of $1.7M in support of hosting the 2021 Grey Cup celebration. This support includes in-kind services, stadium readiness costs, contract staff and community programming.
This highly anticipated announcement of the successful hosts cities came last night as the Canadian Football League (CFL) awarded the 2020 Grey Cup to Regina, and the 2021 Grey Cup to Hamilton.
City of Hamilton staff will continue to work closely with the Hamilton Tiger Cats to finalize the 2021 Grey Cup activities and hosting requirements.
“I am absolutely delighted the CFL has named Hamilton as host city of the 2021 Grey Cup game and festival. Hamilton is an internationally recognized entertainment hub, hosting numerous sporting, film and music events and is the ideal location for this iconic championship event. We’re ready to welcome fans of Canadian Football to our great city and further prove Hamilton is one of the most dynamic cities in Canada.” – Mayor Fred Eisenberger
