City of Hamilton’s first Pop-Up Park takes over City parking lot in Beasley Neighbourhood
HAMILTON, ON - July 14, 2017 - Highlighting the importance of animating spaces for public use and offering a preview of what future spaces could look like, please join the City of Hamilton and the community in opening Hamilton’s first pop-up park at the corner of John and Rebecca streets.

A photo opportunity and ribbon cutting will be followed by a family picnic organized by the community.

About the Pop-Up Park
The Pop-Up Park at John and Rebecca Streets is the City of Hamilton’s first pop-up park and motivated by a number of factors including:
- Increasing opportunities for community gathering spaces that are vibrant and can be used and accessed by the public;
- Providing an opportunity to innovate and test different ideas – in this case, park elements and collect feedback from users;
- Showing the future potential of the future park, which will completely take over the parking lot in the future; and
- Supporting and connecting with the City’s Corporate Strategic Plan, specifically around designing and planning public spaces that enhance the quality of life, well-being and enjoyment of residents
