City turns out the lights for Earth Hour Saturday, March 25

HAMILTON, ON - March 22, 2017 - The City of Hamilton will show its support for Earth Hour on Saturday, March 25, 2017 by turning off all nonessential lighting in corporate facilities, which includes City Hall and the Lister Block from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. Street lighting will remain operational for safety reasons.

Hamilton Water will also participate in the initiative by taking steps to minimize the use of electricity without compromising the delivery and quality of Hamilton’s water supply. Security lighting will remain on, inside and outside of buildings, to ensure public safety.

This worldwide campaign promotes the recognition of global warming by turning off lights for one hour to take action against climate change. Hamiltonians are encouraged to take action to show their support for the cause.
