Construction for the Clappison Avenue bridge begins
HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton has begun construction for the Clappison Avenue bridge, which crosses Borer’s Creek. This infrastructure work involves blasting of rock for the bridge footings.
The blasting subcontractor will ensure that safety protocols for blasting are implemented, and that prior to each blast, any pedestrians using the nearby trail are stopped and kept back at a safe distance. Safety measures will be in place throughout the construction phase. The blasting is scheduled to be complete by approximately Friday, October 11, 2019.
The contractor is Con-Drain Company (1983) Ltd. The developer is Flamborough Power Centre Inc., and the engineering consultant is Scott Llewellyn & Associates Ltd. The construction of the bridge is anticipated to be completed by the end of this November, 2019, with weather permitting.
The City of Hamilton thanks motorists, and residents, for their patience as we complete these important infrastructure improvements.
