Curbside Yard Waste Collection Changes begin December 12, 2022
HAMILTON, ON – The week of December 5, 2022 will be the last week of the City of Hamilton’s curbside yard waste collection for the winter season. Residents who need to dispose of yard waste can bring it free of charge to a Community Recycling Centre year round.
Curbside collection of yard waste will resume on March 6, 2023 in time for spring clean-up. Waste Management staff monitor waste tonnage data and have determined that the peak of yard waste placed at the curb was highest in mid-November and is now steadily declining.
Christmas tree collection will not be impacted. Real Christmas trees will be collected during the first and second weeks of January on residents’ regular collection day. Christmas trees can also be dropped off at a Community Recycling Centre.
