Early morning fatal house fire - 36 Laird Drive
HAMILTON, ON - June 15, 2017 - The Hamilton Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in a 1 storey house at 36 Laird Drive, Hamilton at 12:22 am this morning. Upon arrival, firefighters reported a well involved fire with heavy smoke showing at the front of the home. Fire crews immediately went inside to conduct search and rescue operations and initiate a fire attack. During their search and rescue operations, three persons were located and removed from the home.
Firefighters immediately initiated lifesaving procedures and were assisted by Hamilton Paramedic Service personnel who transported two of the occupants to hospital. Despite all lifesaving efforts, all three occupants have succumbed to their injuries.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and an investigator from the Fire Marshal’s Office has arrived on scene to commence an investigation into the cause of this fire.
