Visit the 200 year-old Gage home on Family Day and experience the work and play of an early Upper Canadian family.

Family Day
Explore a fascinating piece of Hamilton history at Dundurn National Historic Site. On a guided tour of over 40 rooms in Dundurn Castle, discover what it was like to live and play above stairs and work and live below stairs. Visitors will enjoy hands-on activities throughout their tour and sample a variety of historic goodies made in the kitchen. Visit the neighbouring Hamilton Military Museum for a self-guided experience with dress-up and hands-on activities while exploring the historical figures whom lived around Burlington Heights during the War of 1812. Remember to stop in at The Coach House Gallery for an exhibit featuring stories about the First World War and paint a poppy for our Remembrance “garden”.

Ontario Archaeological Society Monthly Lectures
Join the OAS Hamilton Chapter at its monthly meetings and lectures at Fieldcote Museum, held on the third Thursday of every month. A lecture or film is presented, with coffee and snacks.

You Can Get To Here From There – Black History Month
In conjunction with Black History Month this February, join us for an informative talk by Nerene Virgin and Alan Smith as they reach back into Nerene's ancestral archives to share a journey against prejudice. Nerene Virgin is the great granddaughter of Thomas John Holland who escaped on the Underground Railroad from Maryland to Hamilton.

Wednesday Wigglers
Families can enjoy semi-structured preschool programming and a visit to the Children’s Museum. Enjoy songs, activities, story-time, sensory play, and a craft with a different theme each week. Suitable for ages 0 to 4. Themes in February will be:

Family Day – Pine Cone Café
Celebrate your family with us! Welcome to the Pine Cone Café where children and adults can make bird snacks for our feathered friends during the winter months. Participants will make bird feeders from pine cones as well as their own bird books to take home.

Family Fun Day – Trains, Trains and more Trains
Join us on Family Day for train-themed fun. Visit our craft station and build and decorate your own building. Take your building home or visit the model railroad and place it alongside the train track where the steam trains will be running. Adult supervision is required. Suitable for ages 5+ years.
