Federal partners to meet in Hamilton on climate change
HAMILTON, ON – Mayor Fred Eisenberger is hosting the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Federal Minister of Environment & Climate Change, at Hamilton City Hall for a meeting surrounding climate change and its impact at a local level.
Immediately following the meeting, media partners are invited to join Minister McKenna and Mayor Eisenberger at City Hall for a media availability.
In 2015, Mayor Eisenberger signed the City of Hamilton onto the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy which is a global response and international alliance of world cities and local governments with a shared vision of transitioning to a low emission, resilient society. In 2018, Mayor Eisenberger signed onto the Edmonton Declaration that in part, reinforces the important role of cities in achieving the targets in The Paris Agreement.
