Fire-fighters respond to two early morning fires
HAMILTON, ON – June 3, 2017 – The Hamilton Fire Department responded to two working fires this morning beginning at approximately 3:34 am at 54 King Street East , for a reported structure fire. This fire was quickly extinguished by fire-fighters upon their arrival and damage was estimated at $100,000. There were no reported injuries from the fire. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and an investigator from the Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to assist with the investigation.
At the second fire at 9923 Dickenson Road West, Glanbrook, firefighters responded at approximately 5:41 am to reports of a structure fire in a residential home. Upon arrival fire-fighters encountered a well involved fire in the first floor bedroom room area venting out the front window and a vehicle in the driveway. Fire crews were provided with information that the home is occupied by six people, four adults and 2 children, who have not been seen in recent days. Crews immediately began search and rescue operations of the home which confirmed that there was no one home. Firefighters were able to effect a successful knockdown and extinguishment of the fire but the home suffered extensive damages estimated at $350,000 in total.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
