F.O.R.E Tees Off Its 3rd Year Giving Hamilton's Youth The Chance To Play Golf
HAMILTON, ON – May 3, 2016 - In its 3rd year, the Fun Organized Recreational Enjoyment (F.O.R.E) Golf Program tees off the outdoor portion of its program aimed at giving Hamilton’s youth the chance to learn the game of golf. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Hamilton, Canadian Tire Jump Start, and Nevada Bob’s inside Sportchek at Eastgate Square, the F.O.R.E program has seen enrolment increase 10% since the program began in 2013. During the nine week indoor and outdoor program, participants will learn from local certified golf instructors and golf professionals free of charge.
Young golf enthusiasts between the ages of 11 and 16 will receive a brand new set of golf clubs donated by Canadian Tire Jump Start and Nevada Bob’s. In January, classes began as participants got ready to play the back nine on a Mobile Multi-Sports Simulator donated by Ward 8 Councillor Terry Whitehead. Councillor Whitehead was proud to get the ball rolling on this program. “Success is best achieved through patience and discipline”, says Whitehead. “It’s gratifying to see how Hamilton’s youth benefit from the skills and experience gained through this program.”
