“City of Hamilton’s Horticulture staff are thrilled to celebrate gardening as part of this national event. People who create gardens do it to make their properties beautiful, to enrich their home and our neighbourhoods. Visiting our public gardens provides serenity, relieves stress and improves physical and mental health. We hope everyone enjoys the beauty City gardens have to offer all year long.” - Craig Murdoch, Director of Environmental Services
“I’ve been a faithful advocate of the value of beautifying our city with public gardens for a long time. My office has helped fund garden projects around the city for 20 years. Projects from the garden beds at Macassa Lodge to planting flowers in traffic islands. I hope people will celebrate the great value gardens bring to the City of Hamilton and participate in Garden Days this Friday.” - Councillor Tom Jackson
