Hamilton’s best developments recognized at the City’s Urban Design and Architecture Awards

HAMILTON, ON - It’s a wrap! The design and development community gathered at the 2019 Urban Design and Architecture Awards ceremony last night to celebrate the best work from the last two years. The biennial Awards Program celebrates design excellence in Hamilton. The City sees design as an integral part of a vibrant and sustainable community that, in turn, fosters a high quality of life.

The awards recognize and celebrate excellence in the design of our urban environment. As duly noted by urban planners from around the world, a high quality, well designed urban environment brings economic and social benefits to its citizens.

Projects presented included adaptive reuse, additions, alterations, new buildings, brownfield redevelopment, master plans, ecological restoration, installations, landscapes, open spaces, parks, planning studies, public art, streetscapes and student work. Awards were presented to the industry’s best from architects, consultants, contractors, engineers, landscape architects, planners, to owners, urban designers and students.
