Huntington Park Recreation Centre closing for renovations
HAMILTON, ON - March 6, 2017 - Effective July 3, 2017 Huntington Park Recreation Centre will be closed for renovations, reopening in spring 2018. The 1.5 million dollar funding for this project is capital funding from the City of Hamilton.
Huntington Park Recreation Centre was last renovated in 1990. The mechanical equipment has reached the end of its service time, requiring a new renovation to the buildings internal workings. The internal environment of the entire building will be improved with brand new mechanical work.
The Huntington Park Recreation Centre 2017-2018 renovations will include:
- Remodeling in order to provide an accessible gender neutral washroom outside of the changing areas
- New windows
- New HVAC heating and cooling control system
- New pool humidity control system
- New reception area
Patrons are encouraged to make use of neighbouring recreation centres for swim and recreational activities during the closure:
