Intermittent closures on portion of Keddy Access Trail beginning next week
HAMILTON, ON – In order for crews to safely complete railing repairs along the Keddy Access Trail, the City of Hamilton will close the trail between the Hunter Street E entrance and the Arkledun Ave trail connection beginning on Monday, December 12, 2022 for approximately five days.
Work will take place each day between 9 am and 3 pm, with the Keddy Access Trail reopening each afternoon. Work is expected to wrap up on or before Friday, December 16 at 3 pm, weather permitting.
In addition to the railing repairs, other general maintenance including sweeping, graffiti removal and temporary snow fencing will take place during these closures.
Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to access the Keddy Access Trail between Southam Park and the Arkledun Ave trail connection.
Cyclists are reminded that during this closure, they can use the HSR Mountain Climber Program which offers cyclists free HSR rides up and down the escarpment year-round. Cyclists can find participating Mountain Climber routes and stops by visiting www.hamilton.ca/mountainclimber.
The City of Hamilton thanks motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for their patience as we complete these important infrastructure repairs.
