Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek
Experience the drama, pageantry, and excitement of the Battle of Stoney Creek of June 6, 1813, one of the most important events in Canada's history. Bring the whole family for games, food, demonstrations, musical entertainment, fireworks, and the Re-enactment itself. Our Hamilton: Through Their Eyes
The effects of the First World War were so far-reaching they impacted the lives of every Hamiltonian. Follow the course of Hamilton’s involvement from the initial ‘call to arms’ to the post-war period through treasures from the collections of the Hamilton Military Museum including letters, photos and personal items owned by Hamiltonians and experience the war Through Their Eyes.

Dundurn’s Golden Anniversary Celebration
On Saturday, June 17, 1967, the museum officially reopened its doors to a crowd of more than 3,000 people to celebrate the newly restored “Castle.” Saturday, June 17, 2017 marks our 50th anniversary as a historic house museum. Join us as we celebrate 50 years of restoration with special tours of newly restored rooms, view the rarely seen Cockpit building, and participate in hands-on activities such as gardening, and cooking using tools and techniques from the 1850s. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy music, crafts and games which were popular in MacNab’s time as well as in the 1960s when the museum first opened.

From Our Garden to Yours
Dundurn’s Historic Kitchen Garden is hosting a FREE one-day, plant-sharing event. This event encourages communal growing, harvesting, and enjoyment of plants. Under the guidance of Garden Demonstrators visitors will have the opportunity to dig up and pot ‘Victoria’ Rhubarb. Named after Queen Victoria this red-stemmed variety dates back to 1837. Quantities are limited and participants are required to bring a 6-inch plastic pot or sturdy plastic bag for transplanting. Throughout the afternoon, starting at 12:30 p.m., visitors are welcome to participate in free tours of the Kitchen Garden. This tour offers a glimpse into the life of Sir Allan MacNab and his family and the many varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs which were grown in his time.

Ontario Archaeological Society Monthly Lectures
Join the OAS Hamilton Chapter at its monthly meetings and lectures at Fieldcote Museum, held on the third Thursday of every month. A lecture or film is presented, with coffee and snacks.

Exhibit: From ‘The Ark’ – Ancaster 150
Join the Farmer family as they journey from “The Ark” of family lore through 150 years of life in Ancaster. Explore how their world changed between 1867 to 2017 and discover key points in national history.

Exhibit: Magic of Theatre – Theatre Ancaster Celebrates 20 Years
With a fascinating display of costumes, programs and posters from previous performances, Theatre Ancaster looks back at 20 years of creativity and passion. A free opening reception for the exhibit will be held on June 8 from 6 to 8 pm.

Family Movie Nights at Fieldcote

Makeology Almost Summer Craft Fair
This one-day event set in three unique historic buildings makes for a great afternoon of shopping for unique items. Browse through booths filled with handmade fashionable jewellery, toys, bags, soaps and knitted items – all from regional makers. Your visit is not complete until you take a walk through the 1859 steam powered Pump-House – a truly memorable historical experience. The Makeology Fair is your opportunity to add to your own collection for your home and wardrobe with unique one of-a-kind items while supporting homegrown business by shopping locally. All ages.

Cost: $5 per person (children 12 and under free), free museum admission, onsite parking: $3 donation.
Mini Maker Faire
Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. The event will feature innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft. It's a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it.
Families can also enjoy the popular Steam train rides, running on tracks on the museum grounds and can experience metal casting, musical entertainment, 3-D printing and rocket building. Food trucks and vendors will also be on site. Parking will be available on-site for $5. Parking will also be available off-site with regular shuttles to the museum available.
