Let’s connect, Hamilton Fire Department survey launched
HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton is looking to hear from the community about the Hamilton Fire Department as part of the City’s Services and Assets Review. The feedback will be used to inform the development and execution of the City’s Corporate Asset Management Plan, which is required to meet provincial legislative requirements. The survey opened July 24 and closes on August 28, 2023.
An integral part of developing the Corporate Asset Management Plan is a series of public engagement surveys to connect with Hamiltonians on what is important to them when it comes to the City’s programs and services. Residents can share their feedback to inform how future taxpayer dollars are spent, ensuring consistency with the community’s needs and expectations while meeting legislative requirements and standards.
The City conducted surveys on the core assets (roads, engineered structures, water, wastewater, stormwater) in early 2022 and another set earlier this year covering parking, police and waste management services. Further surveys are being conducted for all City services throughout 2023 and 2024.
Good asset management planning allows municipalities to stretch capital dollars by helping them make well-informed, evidence-based decisions. It's about making the right infrastructure investments in the right places, at the right time to meet required levels of service in the most cost-effective manner, through the management of assets for now and the future.
Community feedback is vital to preparing the Asset Management Plan, to ensure the thoughts, opinions and satisfaction levels are thoughtfully considered as the plan, priorities and strategies are developed.
The online engagement survey for the Hamilton Fire Department runs until August 28, 2023. Residents can learn more and take the survey online or by phone.

“It's so important to me that the people of Hamilton have their voices heard as we work on their behalf. I encourage everyone to play a role in this process so we can make infrastructure investments that match our city's priorities and address our residents' needs.”
