Mayor to present 20 outstanding individuals with The Order of Hamilton

HAMILTON, ON – Mayor Andrea Horwath will recognize 20 exceptional Hamiltonians with The Order of Hamilton award at the Mayor’s New Years Levees this week.

The Order of Hamilton recognizes the outstanding voluntary contributions of individual community members for their efforts in service and community building across Hamilton.

This years’ award recipients span the spectrum of community involvement, highlighting diverse backgrounds that have shaped our city in many meaningful ways, from raising more than 2-million pounds of food through the Ancaster Food Drive, to founding the Hamilton Black Film Festival.

• This year, the City received a record number of nominations, equaling more than three times the number of submissions received the year prior (2022).
• The 2023 nominees are among the most diverse cohorts to date.
• Since its inception in 2019, 60 Hamilton residents have been awarded The Order of Hamilton.
• The Order of Hamilton will be formally presented at the Mayor’s New Years Levees.

• Friday, January 19, 2024 from 7 to 9 pm
  Stoney Creek Municipal Service Centre, 777 Highway 8, Stoney Creek

• Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 12 noon to 2 pm
  Ancaster Municipal Service Centre, 300 Wilson Street East, Ancaster
