Notice of Infrastructure Work in Lake Ontario
The City of Hamilton hereby gives notice that an application has been made to the Minister of Transport, pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act for approval of the work described herein and its site and plans.
Pursuant to paragraph 7(2) of the said Act,
The City of Hamilton has deposited with the Minister of Transport, on the on-line Common Project Search Registry under the NPP File Number 2024-412489 a description of the following work, its site and plans:
- The work entails the rehabilitation of two (2) of the City of Hamilton water intakes. This includes cleaning and removal of lakebed sediment and material that has deposited within the intake pipelines. This material within the intake pipelines will be returned and deposited on the adjacent lakebed.
- The location of the work is in Lake Ontario, approximately 1 km offshore of 255 Van Wagners Beach Rd, City of Hamilton, in the Province of Ontario, L8E 3L8. The approximate coordinates of the work are 43°15'46"N 79°45'30"W.
