Official opening celebration for the new Bay Street bike lanes
HAMILTON, ON - October 26, 2017 - On Friday, His Worship Mayor Fred Eisenberger will welcome the Honourable Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Ted McMeekin, Ontario Member of Provincial Parliament for Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale and Hamilton Ward Two Councillor Jason Farr to celebrate the official opening of the new Bay Street bike lanes.
In addition to a formal ribbon cutting ceremony, the City of Hamilton will also be hosting a “cycling mini fair” with representatives from the Hamilton Cycling Committee, Bike for Mike, Smart Commute Hamilton, Public Health’s Helmet Initiative, Friendly Streets, SoBi Hamilton, Open Streets, New Hope Community Bikes, Green Venture, and Hamilton Burlington Trails Council
A short group bicycle ride from City Hall to the Waterfront Trail will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony.
