Portion of eastbound LINC closed today to facilitate collision cleanup
HAMILTON, ON – Earlier today, a large commercial truck carrying a boom lift was travelling eastbound on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway (LINC) and struck the Upper Sherman Avenue overpass. In order for crews to facilitate cleanup work, the City of Hamilton has fully closed the eastbound LINC between Upper Wentworth Street and Upper Gage Avenue for the remainder of the day.
The closure on the eastbound LINC is expected to remain in place until later tonight. Further updates on reopening timing will be shared on the City’s Twitter channel.
Motorists travelling along the eastbound LINC should expect delays and are advised to take an alternate route for their evening commute.
City staff have determined that damage to the Upper Sherman Avenue overpass is minimal and have safely reopened the overpass to traffic.
The City of Hamilton thanks motorists for their patience as well complete the cleanup along the LINC.
