Public invited to provide input into next phase of Hamilton Ward Boundary Review
HAMILTON, ON – June 9, 2016 – On behalf of the City of Hamilton, independent firm Watson & Associates Economists Ltd., in association with Trust Learning Solutions, ICA Associates Inc. and public affairs consultant Dr. Robert J. Williams are carrying out a review of Hamilton’s ward boundaries.
The purpose of the review is to assess what would be the most effective and equitable arrangement of the city’s wards and make recommendations to Council on alternative ward boundary options. The last ward boundary review was conducted in 2001.
As part of the second phase of public consultation (the first phase took place in February 2016), the public is invited to attend open houses being held at various locations across Hamilton to provide their input into the review. Open houses begin today and run until June 29:

During the open houses, residents will:
- Learn about possible approaches to defining Hamilton’s ward boundaries
- Review various reference materials
- Review detailed display boards
- Speak with members of the consulting team

A final recommendation report is expected to go before Council in the fall.
