Resident recruitment now open for the City of Hamilton’s Expanding Housing and Support Services for Women and Transgender Community Sub-Committee
HAMILTON, ON – Beginning today, residents can apply to join the Expanding Housing and Support Services for Women and Transgender Community Sub-Committee.
The City of Hamilton is looking to recruit three volunteer residents with experience and interest in homelessness prevention and the provision of affordable housing for the City of Hamilton’s Advisory Committees.
This sub-committee is empowered by and responsible to City Council for its activities; reporting on emerging issues as required pertaining to expanding housing and support services for women, transgender and gender non-binary identified persons to address the intersections of identities such as race, sexual orientation, and gender identity which create unique experiences of housing instability and homelessness.
Recruitment closes on Thursday, October 31 at 4:30 pm.

Quick facts
- This sub-committee will report through the Emergency and Community Services Committee.
- This sub-committee is required to meet four to six times per year.
- Most appointments are for four years to coincide with the term of Council.
