Statement by Mayor Fred Eisenberger on the passing of Rose MacGowan

HAMILTON, ON - It is with sadness we learned of the passing of Rose MacGowan, Hamilton City Hall, Building Maintenance Coordinator, early this morning. Rose, a 30-year city employee, had a magnetic personality that could lift the spirits of any room she entered. Her wit, humor and positive energy will be greatly missed by many. We are keeping the entire MacGowan family in our thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time.

In honour and remembrance of Rose MacGowan, the flags at City Hall will be lowered to half-staff for three days beginning this afternoon, Friday, January 7, and returning to full staff on Monday, January 10, 2022.
