Statement from Mayor Eisenberger on the passing of former Mayor Rob Ford

March 22nd, 2016, Hamilton, ON – I am saddened to learn of the passing of Councillor and former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford at the age of 46.

It’s a stark reminder that while we’ve made great progress, cancer remains the leading cause of death in Canada -responsible for 30% of all deaths. It’s a difficult time for a family; I recently lost a sibling to cancer.

On behalf of the City of Hamilton, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues. We are sorry for your loss.
