Statement from Mayor Eisenberger on today's affordable housing announcement

HAMILTON, ON – March 14, 2016 – Thank you to Premier Wynne, Minister Ted McMeekin, Minister Glen Murray and Deputy Premier Deb Matthews for your strong leadership on affordable housing and our collective homelessness crisis.

I am pleased that all three levels of Government share a common focus. Ensuring we are working with the private sector is also vital for municipalities to achieve our goals for poverty reduction. Good housing options are the foundation and provide more than shelter: they offer stability, security and dignity.

We wish for all members of our community to have a shared sense of purpose, today’s announcement continues to build on solutions to ending homelessness.
