Study Commencement & PIC 1 for West 5th Street EA
The City of Hamilton has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process to develop and assess alternative solutions to improve transportation along West 5th Street (Stone Church Road West to Rymal Road West). The EA will assess options to improve traffic, active transportation, and stormwater management throughout the corridor.
The Process
This project is being carried out as a Schedule C project under the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023, and 2024).

How to Participate
The purpose of the first Public Information Centre (PIC) will review the problem/opportunity statement, the alternative solutions, and the recommended solution. A second PIC will be held at a later date to review the project’s alternative designs and the associated evaluation process.
