Vimy Flight Biplanes to attend Air Force Day - a Canada 150 Signature Event - on July 8
HAMILTON, ON - April 7, 2017 – The City of Hamilton today announced that the Vimy Flight biplanes will attend Air Force Day – Past Present and Future, a Canada 150-Hamilton 2017 Signature Event, on Saturday, July 8 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
The Vimy Flight biplanes are a commemorative squadron of seven WWI replica biplanes including two Sopwith Pups hand-built by a team of mechanics, engineers and Air Cadets. Watch Flight Path of Heroes promotional video.
This Sunday, April 9, the fly-past of the Canadian Vimy Flight biplanes over the Vimy Ridge Memorial in France will capture international media attention. Tens of thousands will be in attendance including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
At the Canada 150 event on July 8, the public are invited to meet current members of the Royal Canadian Air Force, see over 60 aircraft up close on the ground and learn the many roles performed by Canada’s air force today. In addition to the Vimy Flight biplanes, other aircraft on display will include helicopters, trainers and transports, the CF-18 Hornet, plus the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s collection of vintage military aircraft.
