2024 Art Crawl road closures and impacts

HAMILTON, ON – As part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians, James Street North, between York Boulevard and Murray Street, will be closed to motor vehicle traffic during Art Crawl evenings from May to August.

This closure also includes Barton Street at James Street, while Cannon Street will remain accessible for traffic crossing James Street. Parking meters will be bagged starting at 6 am on closure days.

Detours will be in place for HSR Routes 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront, 20 A Line, and seasonal Route 99 Waterfront, beginning approximately at 5 pm until 11 pm on closure days.

Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle, scooter, carpool or use transit to get to the event. It is important for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to adhere to traffic signals and allow extra time for travel within the area, ensuring safety for all.

This closure will not impact Emergency Services and their accessibility to residents, businesses and visitors in the area.
