Boardwalk Grand Opening & Media Waterfront Tour
HAMILTON, ON – June 16, 2016 – The City of Hamilton today announced that the public and media are invited to the “grand opening” of the Pier 7 boardwalk and transient docking station, taking place on Monday, June 20 starting at 10:30 am.
The City of Hamilton is now fully engaged in the transformational plan for the Waterfront. As part of this work, one of the first projects to see completion is the new breakwater structures and the boardwalk and transient docking station at Pier 7.
Celebrating the grand opening will be Mayor Fred Eisenberger, Ward 2 Councillor Jason Farr, and representatives from City of Hamilton’s Public Works, Planning and Economic Development, Hamilton Waterfront Trust and the Hamilton Port Authority.
Following the grand opening ceremony, there will be a one-hour guided media tour of the West Harbour investment area by boat.
Media pre-registration for the boat tour is required before Friday, June 17 at 4 pm.

Grand opening event is open to the public. Media must pre-register in advance for the waterfront boat tour by Friday, June 17 at 4 pm so that capacity plans can be finalized.
