New schedules effective April 28
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! Your comments helped to shape some of the changes we’re making to our service schedules.
We’re making changes to several of our bus schedules, effective Sunday, April 28. The spring schedule will start on April 28, running up to and including June 22.
New service schedules for the following routes are available at hamilton.ca/HSRschedules
- 2 - Barton (Sundays)
- 4 - Bayfront (weekdays and Sundays)
- 5 - Delaware
- 10 - B Line (weekdays and Sundays)
- 12 - Wentworth
- 20 - A Line
- 27 - Upper James (weekdays)
- 33 - Sanatorium
- 35 - College (weekdays)
- 55/55A - Stoney Creek Central
HSR Trip Planning Tools
As a result of the cyber incident, the HSRnow real-time bus arrival and trip planning service is currently offline.
Spring bus schedules, effective April 28, are available on third-party trip planning tools, like Google, Apple & Transit.
To get your HSR bus schedule:
- Visit hamilton.ca/HSRschedules to download a schedule.
- Pick up a printed schedule at the HSR Customer Service Counter at the Hamilton GO Centre at 36 Hunter St. E.
- Request a printed schedule be mailed to you by contacting [email protected]
We will update our website and social media pages as new information becomes available.
Seasonal Schedules, Holidays and Shuttles
Holiday Service
- Victoria Day - Monday, May 20
Buses will be running on a regular Sunday service schedule. - Canada Day - Thursday, July 1

Seasonal Schedules
- 9 – Rock Gardens (Sundays & holidays)
Service on Route 9 returns on Sundays and holidays, effective Sunday, May 12. - 51 – University (weekdays & Saturdays)
There will be no service on Route 51, starting on April 28. Service on this route will return in September. - 56 – Centennial (Saturday, Sunday & holidays)
Starting on April 28, you can catch Route 56 every 45 minutes, between 10 am and 6 pm. Route 56 will not provide service to Wild Waterworks between April 28 and June 22. Service to Wild Waterworks will start on Sunday, June 23.
Ti-Cats Ticket to Ride
HSR Shuttle service to and from Hamilton Tiger-Cat games resumes for the pre-season game on Saturday, May 25 and the regular season home opener on Sunday, June 16.

Celebrating HSR 150
We are celebrating our 150th Anniversary in May 2024 with the launch of an exhibit at the Visitor Experience Center located in the Lister Block, along with limited-edition collectors’ items and other activities!

Fare Assist
If you’re a Hamilton resident receiving Ontario Works, the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or earning an income below the Low Income Measure (LIM) threshold by family size, you may be eligible for Fare Assist.
Key Features of the Fare Assist Program
- 30% discount on current single-ride PRESTO fares for one year following application approval. HSR fare pricing can be found at hamilton.ca/HSRfares.
- Note: The discount applies to both conventional and specialized transit. This means it also applies to trips taken on DARTS vehicles.
- Applicants can re-apply each year.
- Funds can be loaded to a PRESTO card as-needed, and riders will not be charged an additional fare after 11 paid PRESTO trips in the same week (Monday 12:01AM to Sunday 11:59 PM).
- The discount applies to all eligible members of your household, including a spouse and children ages 13-17. Children 12-and-under ride free with PRESTO.

Visit a Hamilton Public Library (HPL) branch to get your child’s free library card and PRESTO card. Only one PRESTO card per child’s library card. While quantities last. Your child’s free PRESTO card from HPL is valid for free travel on HSR, GO and Burlington Transit.

Climb any mountain
Did you know all HSR buses are equipped with bike racks?
If you’re travelling with your bike, don’t forget to alert the operator when you are exiting the bus and need to retrieve your bike. Cyclists may also hop on the HSR for free rides up or down the escarpment. Look for our Mountain Climber signs at stops closest to the top or bottom of escarpment accesses.

Important Notice
Customers who use a personal mobility device (PMD), such as a wheelchair, scooter, walker, and CNIB cardholders, will be required to pay a fare as of July 1, 2024.
Regular fares will apply.
