City of Hamilton and transit union reach tentative agreement
HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 107 have reached a tentative agreement. The parties met today and were able to resolve the remaining issues in dispute. The agreement is subject to ratification by the ATU membership and City Council.
There will be no labour disruption given the commitment of both parties to recommend the agreement for ratification. Further details will be released upon ratification.
ATU Local 107 represents HSR bus operators, mechanics and other transit workers.
“I would like to thank HSR customers for their continued patience and understanding through this time. I’d also like to express my appreciation to all of our staff at HSR for their commitment to transit and for working to maintain this vital service for our residents. Through this process, we have worked collaboratively with ATU 107 on our shared focus to improve transit services for the future and I am optimistic we can continue working together to make transit the first choice for residents in Hamilton.” – Debbie Dalle Vedove
