Closures to Upper Mount Albion Rd. and Highland Rd. W. to start May 24
Hamilton, ON – May 20, 2016 – Upper Mount Albion Rd. between Highland Rd. and Stone Church Rd. will be closed starting Tuesday, May 24, 2016 for approximately six to eight weeks for storm sewer installation and road urbanization. The works are to accommodate the development of the adjacent lands on Upper Mount Albion Rd.
A road closure is also planned for Highland Rd. W. between Pritchard Rd. and Upper Mount Albion Rd. starting Tuesday, May 24, 2016 for approximately five to six weeks. The closure is required to construct a new signalized intersection at the proposed Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway project – the link between Stone Church Rd. E. and Rymal Road E. During this time, only localized construction traffic will be permitted. There will be no through-traffic.
Due to the concurrent closures, Highland Rd. W. will be closed to through-traffic between Pritchard Rd. and Winterberry Drive. Detour route signage will be posted. Local access for Upper Mount Albion Rd. residents (south of Highland Rd.) is available from the east via Winterberry Drive. Motorists should expect delays and higher than normal traffic volumes along the posted detour route. There may also be some minor HSR service related delays during this construction period.
The City of Hamilton thanks the community for their patience and cooperation as we complete these infrastructure improvements.
