F.O.R.E Golf Program: Getting Hamilton's Youth into the Swing of Fitness
HAMILTON, ON – May 20th, 2016. On May 24th, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm, the Fun, Organized, Recreational, Enjoyment (F.O.R.E) Golf program will celebrate its final class of a successful 2016 program year at Chedoke Civic Golf Course.
Now in its third season, this partnership with the City of Hamilton, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton and Burlington, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and Nevada Bob’s, provides Hamilton’s young people, who might not have otherwise had the opportunity, the chance to learn the game of golf.
The nine-week program provides kids from all over the City with instruction from certified City of Hamilton Course golf professionals as well as a brand new set of golf clubs donated by Canadian Tire Jumpstart and Nevada Bob’s at Eastgate Square. Ward 8 Councillor Terry Whitehead assisted with funding for a Mobile Multi-Sports Simulator to support training efforts. The simulator places users in 10 realistic sports scenarios including hockey, baseball, soccer, and golf to introduce Hamilton’s youngest residents to available recreational programs that promote a healthy lifestyle.
