Co-chairs named for Mayor’s Task Force
HAMILTON, ON – Mayor Andrea Horwath has named Joanne Santucci and Mark John Stewart as co-chairs of the Mayor’s Task Force on Transparency, Access and Accountability, which is charged with undertaking a comprehensive review of public concerns related to access and openness at the City of Hamilton.
Santucci is the founder and past CEO of Hamilton Food Share and has worked to address issues of hunger and poverty in the city for more than 30 years. In addition to overseeing the operations of Hamilton Food Share, Santucci was instrumental in the development of operations standards for local emergency food programs and led the collaboration that established Hamilton’s Emergency Food Network.
Stewart is the Managing Director of Wentworth Strategy Group and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Health Trust. He is an instructor in Strategic Management at McMaster University and an advisor and past chair to local charity Empowerment Squared. His expertise is focused on strategy, governance and leadership.
Santucci and Stewart will work with the City of Hamilton to select three other Task Force members to review public concerns around access to information, transparency and accountability at City Hall. Upon completion of the review, the Task Force will develop and provide actionable recommendations.
A public recruitment process is now open for the three remaining members of the Task Force. Those with experience interacting with City Hall are encouraged to apply, and members will be selected to reflect diverse Hamilton perspectives and regions.
