Council approves early activation of spray pads across Hamilton
Hamilton, ON – Earlier this afternoon, Hamilton City Council approved early opening for all spray pads in Hamilton.
Usually, the City of Hamilton begins opening the large community sized spray pads during the week of June 11. These include Dundas Driving Park, Village Green, Gage Park, Pier 4, Fairgrounds Park, Waterdown Memorial, Heritage Green Sports Park, and Winona. The smaller neighbourhood spray pads are typically opened during the week of June 18.
Given Council’s approval of this additional budget expenditure, City crews will begin activating spray pads this afternoon. It will take a few days to get all locations turned on.
At this time, Dundas Driving Park, Village Green and Gage Park are already operational.
Residents can visit www.hamilton.ca/spraypads to find a spray pad in their neighbourhood, and see which spray pads have been activated.
Spray pads are free to use and are open until early September.
