Gateway windmill features to be removed at Confederation Beach Park starting today
HAMILTON, ON – In the interest of public safety, the City of Hamilton will be removing the gateway windmill features at Confederation Beach Park beginning today, Friday, June 29, 2018.
Three windmills are located in various locations throughout Confederation Beach Park. One of the windmills poses an immediate risk to public safety and will be dismantled today. As a precaution, the remaining two windmills will be removed over the coming days.
The areas will be taped off for the duration of the work and the pathway will be open for regular use.
Removing the windmills will address deficiencies in the attachment of the steel column to the concrete footing. All three will be reinstalled once a structurally sound repair is determined.
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience as this important work is completed.
