Governor’s Road under construction beginning this week
HAMILTON, ON – Earlier this week, the City of Hamilton began a two-year reconstruction project on Governor’s Road between Creighton Road and Pirie Drive. The project involves the installation of new watermains, new concrete curbs, sidewalks and a new asphalt roadway.
Governor’s Road has been reduced to one lane with temporary lane controls in place. Motorists may experience delays in the area and should consider taking an alternate route.
The first phase of the construction project is expected to wrap up in October 2018. Crews will return in spring 2019 and will complete the second phase of construction in August 2019.
HSR customers on the 5 Delaware may experience delays while traveling through the area.
Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the duration of the construction.
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience as we complete these important infrastructure improvements.
