Green Your Routine initiative launches June 9, 2017
HAMILTON, ON - June 7, 2017 - Do you use your green bin? Do you use it for food scraps? The City of Hamilton is launching a new Green Your Routine initiative June 9, 2017 at City Hall.
Green Your Routine initiative
The goals of the Green Your Routine initiative are to get people who don’t already use their green bin to try it out, and to get those who do use the bin to ensure all of their food scraps get tossed in the right place. Almost half of the waste people throw away is organic but a lot of it is ending up in the landfill. The City is challenging residents to take the Green Your Routine pledge. It asks them to promise to participate in the program, complete a survey after 30 days and welcome a curbside visual audit. Participants will have a chance to win a gold sticker for their green bin.
Don’t forget to tweet your photos with the #GreenYourRoutine to encourage everyone to get involved! Mayor Fred Eisenberger will be there to take the pledge June 9! Will you?
