Mayor Eisenberger expresses solidarity and deepest condolences in the wake of the attack on a Muslim family in London, ON

HAMILTON, ON – No words can fully express the profound shock, sadness, and anger we feel over the news that a London family of five out for a walk, like so many others on Sunday, are nearly all lost due to an act of terror and hate.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ loved ones, the Muslim community, and all London residents who are grieving.

Islamophobia is a very real and deadly threat to Canadians, please take a moment to check in with your Muslim friends, neighbours and co-workers to see how they are feeling and to listen.

We commit to supporting the community in this difficult time and must continue to find ways to make it safer and inclusive for all.

In remembrance of the four lives senselessly taken and a young life forever altered, the Hamilton Sign will be dimmed white this evening.
