Mayor Eisenberger leads Hamilton investment mission to India
– Mayor Fred Eisenberger is leading a major investment mission to India from November 17-22 to foster relationships with India and Indian companies. Joining the Mayor will be several Hamilton businesses focused on international trade and export opportunities, Glen Norton, Director of Economic Development and staff from the Economic Development office will focus on Foreign Direct Investment and senior officials from McMaster University/McMaster Innovation Park and Mohawk College will be seeking research collaborations.
The mission will visit New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai to leverage Hamilton's strengths in advanced manufacturing (aerospace, food and beverage processing), academic research and goods movement. As part of the mission, the Hamilton delegation will be meeting with senior government officials, Canadian-Indian Business Councils, touring key Indian investment areas, and will be engaged in a number of one-on-one business meetings with Indian investors considering a move to Canada and those looking to import Canadian-made goods from Hamilton businesses.
As well, the Mayor will be presenting at an event designed to welcome incoming international students to Mohawk College during his visit to Ahmedabad.
Over the past decade, the City of Hamilton has increasingly become home to many Indian-led businesses and the city is increasingly welcoming more Indian international students to Hamilton’s world-class academic institutions.
