Occupants Safely Escape House Fire

HAMILTON, ON – September 30, 2016 – Fire crews responded at 2:35 am  to a multi-unit, residential attached townhouse  located at 1338 Upper Gage Avenue for a reported fire in unit #6. Upon arrival firefighters found the unit to be well involved with a garage fire which had extended into the first and second floor levels.

Firefighters worked quickly and were able to effect a successful knockdown and extinguishment of the fire on all floor levels of unit #6 with limited fire spread to the attic space of the adjoining unit #5.

Damage to the condominium units is estimated at $400,000 in total. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
