PIC 2 for Ainslie Wood Neighbourhood Creek Separation EA
The City of Hamilton is completing a Schedule 'B' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to determine the preferred solution for the Ainslie Wood Neighbourhood Creek Separation from the Municipal Combined Sewer System.
The Class EA study area has been expanded since Public Information No. 1 based on the series of proposed alternative solutions. This study includes public, review agency, and Indigenous consultation, evaluation of alternatives, assessment of the impacts of the proposed works, and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts.
Upon completion of the study, a Project File Report documenting the planning and decision making process will be prepared and made available for public review.
The Study Process
The study will follow the planning and design process as defined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (2023).
How to Participate
Preliminary project information and alternative designs were presented at a virtual PIC in early 2023. A second, in-person open house PIC has now been scheduled as follows to share the study results, review the evaluation process, and present the recommended alternative solution which has been identified as a new storm sewer network along Mericourt Road to a new outfall structure.
