Portion of Charlton Ave E and Wentworth St S closed beginning Monday

HAMILTON, ON – To safely complete road resurfacing, the City of Hamilton will close all lanes of Charlton Avenue East between Victoria Avenue South and Wentworth Street South as well as Wentworth Street South between Charlton Avenue East and Cumberland Avenue beginning Monday, July 19 for approximately four weeks.

The closure is expected to wrap up in late August, weather permitting.

The scope of work includes road resurfacing as well as concrete curb and sidewalk repairs.

During this time, access to Charlton Ave E from the Claremont Access will be open in the westbound direction only.

Access to the Wentworth Stairs will be maintained.

HSR will not be impacted by this closure.
