Rebuilding efforts continue to bring more services online
Hamilton, ON – The City of Hamilton continues to respond to the ongoing cybersecurity attack, prioritizing recovery efforts and the rebuilding of our IT systems.
Throughout the response to this cybersecurity incident, the City has continued to deliver the majority of programs and services to the community, either regularly, through manual processes, or by finding alternate ways to deliver the service.
Current service level updates for the week of March 25:
- The Child Care Fee Subsidy office located at 28 James Street North, Hamilton has reopened and is available for in-person appointments.
- Weddings at City Hall continue to be performed during regular business hours – Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Marriage licences are available and can be processed in person at City Hall and all Municipal Service Centre locations during regular business hours – Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Please note: the Dundas and Flamborough Municipal Service Centres are closed on Fridays.
- Recreation spring programming begins on April 2. Program registration is open; residents are encouraged to the use the waitlist option for preferred classes if the class is full.
- Recruitment for summer students will continue. All written job offers for General Labourer summer positions made prior to the cybersecurity incident will be honoured. All other summer student positions will be reposted. More information will posted to Hamilton.ca in the coming days.
- Burn Permits are available to purchase at all Municipal Service Centre locations.
- Back-end systems that support Hamilton Fire dispatch are now functional.
As a reminder, core services have still been delivered throughout the incident. First responders like fire, paramedics and police have continued to respond to calls throughout. Trash, recycling, green bin organics are being collected, and we continue to provide safe, clean drinking water to homes and businesses.
Other City services to highlight that are running as scheduled include the processing of planning appeals; Civic Museums - including visitor tours, workshops and programs - available Tuesday to Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm; and ticket payments that can be made in person, by mail, or online at Paytickets.ca.
