Our building has historical significance in the Hamilton community. The building was initially built in 1915 to serve as a school house. Founded in 1976, the RHFC is the City of Hamilton’s only directly operated child care facility for children aged 1.5-5 years. The daily program at RHFC encourages hands-on learning and aligns with the Ministry of Education’s resource, “How Does Learning Happen? Staff at RHFC understands that all children are capable, curious, and competent which is why they provide a play-based active learning approach to their programs, and work in collaboration with parents. As well, RHFC provides an integrated program for special needs children.
