Statement by Mayor Fred Eisenberger on the passing of former Councillor Gary Birch

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Gary Birch, who represented his community on the former Town of Glanbrook Council for Ward 3 from 1980 until the year 2000.

Gary, who was also an educator, was passionate about history and served his community well.

I have requested flags to be flown at half-mast at City Hall starting tonight until tomorrow to coincide with the celebration of life.

I join our entire Council in conveying our deepest condolences to Gary's wife, Irene, their children, grandchildren and friends.
