Volunteer Firefighters coming to your neighborhoods for Annual Food & Toy Drive
HAMILTON, ON – November 15, 2018 – Hamilton volunteer firefighters from Stoney Creek/Winona, Glanbrook, Waterdown and Ancaster fire stations, are planning their annual Christmas food & toy drives where fire trucks will be driving through local neighborhoods to pick up donations of non-perishable food items.
Stoney Creek/Winona
- Saturday November 17, 2018:
- Volunteer firefighters from Station 16 (939 Barton Street East) will be in neighbourhoods from 9:30 am until 3 pm accepting donations.
- Also, donations can be dropped off at Station 14 (595 Chapel Hill Rd) Station 15 (415 Arvin Ave) and Station 17 (363 Isaac Brock Dr.) from 9:30 am until 3 pm.
Glanbrook
- Saturday November 24, 2018:
- Volunteer firefighters from Station 18 (2636 Highway #56, Binbrook) will be in neighbourhoods from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm accepting donations.
- Volunteer firefighters from Station 19 (3303 Homestead Drive, Mount Hope) will be in neighbourhoods from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm accepting donations.
Flamborough
- Saturday December 1, 2018:
- Volunteer firefighters from Station 24 (256 Parkside Dr., Waterdown) Station 25 (361 Old Brock Rd., Greensville) and Station 27 (11 Carruthers Ln., Rockton) will be at the Walmart Plaza, 90 Dundas Street East between 10 am and 4 pm accepting toys and non-perishable donations.
- Volunteer firefighters from Station 26 (119 Lynden Rd. Lynden) will be in neighbourhoods from 9 am until 12 noon accepting donations of non-perishable food items. You will also be able to drop off your donations the last week of November at the Canadian Legion Hall, 206 Lynden Rd (Tuesday to Friday from 4 to 9 pm) and Donn Zver Pottery and Café, 2290 Hwy 5 West, Troy (9:30 am to 5:30 pm)
- Saturday December 15, 2018: Vlunteer firefighters from Station 28 (1801 Brock Rd., Freelton) will be in the Station from 9 am until 2 pm accepting donations.
Ancaster
- December, Date TBA Station 21 (365 Wilson St)
This food & toy drive marks the 22nd year that volunteer firefighters have organized this event. Please leave the donations on your front steps clearly marked for pick-up or you can drop the donations at the participating fire stations.
All donations received will be taken to the local food bank later that afternoon. The local bank will redistribute the donations to individuals and families within the community.
