Weekend closures on the LINC later this summer
HAMILTON, ON – In order to complete maintenance on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (LINC), the City of Hamilton will be conducting two maintenance weekends in late August/early September 2019.
The LINC will be closed, one side at a time, for a whole weekend on each side. The road will be closed for one weekend in the westbound direction in late August, and one weekend in the eastbound direction in early September.
The closures will be in effect from the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud Street in the east to Mohawk Road in the west. At the west end, access between Hwy 403 and the Mohawk Road exit will be maintained during both closures.
The maintenance work will include:
- Spot repairs to the asphalt
- Some sections of shave and pave resurfacing
- Clearing of catch basins
- New reflectors
- Repairs to some signage
Dates for the work are weather permitting, however at this time are planned for:
- Westbound: August 23 at 9:30 pm until August 25 at 11 pm
- Eastbound: September 6 at 9:30 pm until September 8 at 11 pm
Given the nature of the work, these dates may change depending on weather. Updates will be posted at www.hamilton.ca/lincmaintenance and on Twitter @CityofHamilton
Traffic is expected to increase during these maintenance weekends, and motorists should allow extra time and plan alternate routes.
The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as we complete these important infrastructure repairs.
