City of Hamilton inviting input from residents on the redevelopment of Mountain Park Avenue
HAMILTON, ON – The City of Hamilton is inviting the community to participate in its Mountain Drive Park Masterplan Survey aimed at gauging resident support for a one-way street conversion or full pedestrianization of Mountain Park Avenue.
The goal of the streetscape improvement component of the Mountain Drive Park Masterplan is to improve pedestrian safety, to increase multi-use trail width, to reclaim trail and green space for pedestrians and cyclists and to protect the integrity of the escarpment. The streetscape improvement options consider either a one-way conversion or the full pedestrianization of Mountain Park Avenue.
In addition to the proposed streetscape improvements, the City is also seeking input on the proposed redevelopment options for the park, which features the installation of a new spray pad, playground areas, fitness stations, a stair connection to the lower city, and more.
The survey runs until September 30, 2021.To take the survey or view proposed streetscape options for Mountain Park Avenue, visit: engage.hamilton.ca/mountaindrivepark
